a slow and creative introduction to working with clay – shaped entirely by hand.
this workshop is made for beginners who want to explore ceramics in a calm and supportive setting. over six sessions, we’ll work with traditional hand-building techniques like pinching, coiling, and slab-building to create both functional and sculptural pieces.
no wheel, no pressure – just time, tools, and clay.
you’ll learn how to build forms, decorate surfaces, and glaze your own ceramic pieces. each session offers space to experiment, ask questions, and connect with others in a small group of up to eight people.
you’ll learn
• pinching, coiling and slab-building techniques
• how to shape cups, bowls, vases or sculptural objects
• surface decoration using carving, texture and slip painting
• glazing techniques and the firing process
• the rhythm and patience of ceramics
at the end, you’ll take home your own handmade pieces – each one shaped by your hands and the time you gave it.
